Lent, Day 14, Thursday, March 20
I will go before you and level the exalted places, I will break in pieces the doors of bronze and cut through the bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness and the hoards in secret places, that you may know that it is I, the Lord, the God of Israel, who call you by your name. . . . I form light and create darkness, I make well-being and create calamity, I am the LORD, who does all these things. Isaiah 45:2-3, 7
God creates both light and darkness. He hides treasures in the dark for you. Trust this God who does all these things, from creating calamity to making peace, to knowing and calling you by name. He is the LORD.
Ponder: Do you realize that the God who forms both light and darkness knows and calls you by name? Think about what treasures God may give you in the dark.
Praise: He is the LORD Yahweh, and there is no other. He intimately knows and calls you by name.
